RE: Tires- Tires - Tires

I see a lot of people glossed over the 17.5" size which is beyond the Endurance or Maxxis size tires...so those are not an option. I have Goodyear G114 on my trailer, so far no issues after @ 8000 miles. FYI Jayco's Fifth wheels are now coming with a new Uniroyal 17.5" tire...so that is another option. Goodyear had production problems after covid...so I think that is why they switched.

RE: Rocket exhaust from diesel regen

pulling a TT or a loaded up 41' toy hauler up the big hill might have different results...just saying!

RE: Ram fuel mileage

I would like to know a ball park MPG figure for a newer Ram 2500 diesel, towing a trailer and empty. I don't want to start a typing war about which rig is the best. It looks like Hemi's are in short supply, but diesels are available for a price. Thanks There are lots of different trailer that will greatly affect your mileage. Need more info if you want a correct answer!

RE: B&W Companion hitch removal

Nice pics and explanation. I did mine once by myself...but there are better and safer options. Hope I'm in your shape in another 9 years :)

RE: '21 RAM Big Horn 3500 DRW CC/LB 4x4 with NEXEN Tire WOES!

38,000 miles on my Michelin LTX MS2 tires and they have been great and are wearing great! I assume you had your front aligned to nearly ZERO toe??? No alignment changes...still set from factory. I have seen your post about that...but I never had an issue with wear on the front tires. I do rotate the front tires only side to side every 10,000 miles. All good so far :) VERY interesting!!! Are you the original owner? yes, original owner bought new...less than 20 miles on it when I picked it up. Maybe, I got lucky :)

yep, it's sad Ram installs these tires...had my nexen tires replaced at about 22,000 miles with Michelin tires.

RE: Ram 6.7 no start

As a tip... I learned when camping with my friends and his Ford 6.7 power stroke batteries died...no amount of charging with a 40 amp charger or jumpstarting from my truck would turn that motor over until we disconnected the bad battery and jumped it with just the one remaining so so battery connected to my truck. If you have one really bad battery...it may need to be disconnected to jump start truck....just my experience.

RE: 2023 Super Duty 6.7PSD HO Review

If I turned my steering wheel as much as he did I would be in the next lane as my steering is that tight. Funny but true :)

RE: B&W Companion hitch removal

I installed an electric hoist in my garage and store the hitch on a 4 wheel dolly. That is a great option if you have the room for that type of setup. I did think of that too...In my case...I went with the engine hoist to lift my zero turn and also on my old trailer... to lift the portable generator to my truck bed or cargo rack on the back by myself.

RE: B&W Companion hitch removal

The Ram base is bigger and heavier than the Ford or Chevy. I take the head off and then two person lift the base. I've done it by myself but that is asking for it...don't do that. Now to do it by myself safely...I used a coupon and got a $100 engine hoist from Harbor freight. I still have to slide or walk it closer to the edge of the truck...then using one of these Link... I can lift the whole hitch out. Some leave the hitch attached to the trailer and use the trailer to lift the hitch and then drive out from under the hitch while attached to trailer....then reverse the process to hook back up.

at this point I'm smelling a troll Who? The dude with the dead batteries or the dozen guys telling him he has dead batteries? Now there's nothing wrong coming on a forum asking a question when you already know the answer. :B ;)

RE: Ram 6.7 no start

I tried to jump start a Ford one time...only one battery was shot...but it made jumpstarting impossible. Listen to everyone...one way or the other the 7 year old batteries need to go. IT'S NOT A FUSE :S
